What It Is
A five hour workshop designed to help you think differently about your writing. In a small group setting we visit the Portland Art Museum and use visual immersion to find new angles and connections for personal stories. You will notice what pulls you in, what you want more of, and what parts of your life resonate with the art you are engaging with.
After the museum, we move to a quiet nearby space to workshop notes and early ideas. You leave Part 1 with defined direction and a cache of ideas you can continue building from.
Two weeks later we meet again to share the work that emerged and receive focused, supportive feedback.
Who It’s For
Storytellers and writers who want a clearer entry point, new direction, or a fresh angle on work that feels stuck.
Why This Works
Looking at art with intention helps you notice things you might otherwise overlook. The museum offers visual cues that open up ideas, connections, and story elements for your own writing. The follow-up session helps turn those discoveries into usable momentum and direction.
What You’ll Leave With
Defined direction for your current or next story
A simple framework guiding your next draft
Supportive feedback that clarifies your path
A stronger sense of your narrative strengths
Optional ongoing group support for continued structure
